This post is one of our Family Friday series when we give you a peek into our family treatment homes. Each Friday, we’ll show you a picture, along with a description from one of our treatment parents or Executive Director Forrest Lien. Learn more about our unique treatment model for children with reactive attachment disorder and meet our treatment families.
*Charley has natural musical talents. Although he’s never taken lessons, he has learned how to play the piano beautifully on his own. Children with reactive attachment disorder struggle with low self-esteem as a result of their early abuse and neglect. We encourage all the children in our program to work on and display their unique talents and interests regularly to build their confidence. Charley beams when given the opportunity to play for people and we encourage him to do so whenever given the opportunity.”
